Spain: rain destroys 20% of olive production

2009 was a rather negative year for Spain as a oil producing country since it was forced to sell oil at a price lower than 2 Euros per kilogram for the whole year, i.e. a price lower than the production cost. And 2010 does not look any better: strong rain has brought harvesting operations to a halt in the southern part of the country for a month now thus destroying about 20% of the production.

Origin information: Bulk oil
